Why Vetlands needs to collect information? To qualify for exemption from federal income tax under section 501c(19) of the Internal Revenue Code, Vetlands membership must be comprised of certain minimum percentages of past or present members of the U.S. Armed Forces, their spouses, widows, or widowers. Vetlands must maintain certain information on its membership to prove its membership meets these criteria. Where will the Vetlands membership information be kept? This membership information is maintained in a password protected database hosted by Memberclicks which subjects the information to its own strict Security and Privacy Policy. How will the information be used and who will have access to it? Vetlands shall not share the information it maintains on its members with any other organization or non-member individual other than with the IRS to prove that it qualifies for exemption under 501c(19). Members of Vetlands may access information on other members in the database but such access shall be limited to name, photo, email, branch of military, and dates of service. Members shall have full access to their own information. Vetlands takes its obligation to protect your privacy seriously. It expects each member to respect the privacy of all other members. Vetlands will expel any member found abusing the privalidge of access to information on the Vetlands database. |
